The role in the product:
Design Lead

This product has been more than a year since the product development began in April 2019. The parts responsible for this project include product ui/ux design, design project time management, graphic design, and product promotion video recording. , Video editing, web design, exhibition design, banner, posters, interview film recording and production, event photography, marketing ideas, marketing design, etc., and I also work with team members of different nationalities (Brazil, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan ) It can be said I grow with this product in the same time.

Working mode when developing products.

In the process of developing products, the team relies heavily on remote work. Our CEO cares about the balance of life and work of everyone working together in this company, so Remote is one of the characteristics of our team. Such a work model can help employees achieve a balance in life, so during work, I often go to cafes, parks, or work directly from home. Our team There are also cases of working in Europe while traveling with family. In the working life of Remote, our team relies on Slack, Google Calendar, Google doc, Trello, Time Doctor, MotifyHR etc.. These cloud softwares allow us to work and communicate smoothly without having to meet face to face. During the raging period of New Coronary Pneumonia, team members have maintained this online working model for about two months, because the company is a multi-national team member, and members often return to the country during the Chinese New Year. This mode of work allows everyone to work more flexibly, even after returning to their own country will not affect the team's work progress.

Find problems and needs

In 2019/03, the company decided to develop new software after the previous product MotifyHR. So I began to look for problems and market needs. During the team discussion, I found that Japan encountered many challenges in the process of recruiting talents, and most companies are still using paper for personal data collection and paper contracts for social registration procedures. These reasons led to the company's lack of quick hands and feet when recruiting, and the cumbersome process of joining the company led to the confusion of this incredible recruitment process when entering the company, the problem of talent lost in the complicated process of joining the company, and the international talents far away from abroad Quickly complete the contract face to face and give up the idea of joining the company.


So a preliminary idea came out, we decided to design a good experience joining the company a "onboarding system"


"Improve the complicated procedures for entering the society and the management of the contract for entering the society in Japan, and provide humanized operation management for the social workers and HR and provide a good experience for entering the society."


Research

So the team began to study the workflow and time required for most of the social workers in Japan to handle the registration procedures, and the cost of the company’s employment of social workers to handle the registration procedures.
And the current employment trends in Japan are shown below. From the picture below we get a conclusion, The procedure for hiring a social worker to handle a new member is 25,000 yen.
If the registration procedure can be solved once in our solution, It can save a lot of money and time costs for the company. In addition, the social worker also has extra time to generate higher value for the company.




Minimal Viable Product (MVP) &Product Roadmap

The main MVP User Story of WelcomeHR is:
As an HR personnel, I want to send a contract to the employee and request the employee's personal information,
so that I can quickly complete the registration procedure.

This mvp can find several functions that need to be designed
1. Customize contract, edit contract, contract management, send contract.。
2. Customize personal information request form, edit personal information request form, personal information management, and send personal information form.
3. Edit the company's introduction, upload the videos, photos and texts needed to welcome employees to join the company.
4.Customize the process of joining the company and edit the process of joining the company. .

Competitor Analysis

After doing some user surveys, I found that most competitors' products have too many functions. For the user, only a few functions are required, but the functional cost of the entire software is paid, which is a bit over pay for consumers. When looking for the market, we found that most of our competitors are aimed at large and medium-sized companies as the main customer group, but the market of dispatching employees, work students, and freelance workers has not yet been explored. The advantages of process and management of multiple branches can allow users to connect our software painlessly. We continue to explore the market and find that most large companies need to have full solution solutions. We do not have labor management. We encounter walls everywhere, but the needs of recruiting students, dispatched personnel and freelance workers are relatively low. We decided to find companies with a relatively high turnover rate of restaurant chains, chain KTV work-students, dispatchers and free workers as our main customer base. Sure enough, we found our market and made some achievements.

Learning & Funding

Every time I make a new function, there is often a feeling of checkpoints. Finally, I found it would be a good way to modify Userflow and Information Architecture while hand-painting the interface.
